RICH BUDDHIST POOR BUDDHIST

The Shah Alam Buddhist Society (SABS) is pleased to invite you to a Dhamma Talk this Sunday, September 16, 2007 titled "Rich Buddhist Poor Buddhist" by Brother Charlie Chia.

Bro. Charlie Chia will share with all of us how to create wealth with a purpose. Many a times, we have to go the same people for Dana and donations towards our Buddhist cause. However our Buddhist Community have limited wealth and financial capacity. It with this purpose that we encourage and inspire our Budhist laity to pursue wealth with a right purpose and create a big financial resources to facilitate the expansion of the Buddha Sasana.

We have been given the impresssion that the Dhamma discourage and warn us of the impending follies of attachment and pursuit of wealth. If every Buddhist drop the accumulation as it is something evil, then Poor Buddhist is what we have. Instead the Dhamma gives us all the encouragement to become rich and using our wealth with good purpose and intentions.

Bro. Charlie Chia works as a General Manager in United Malayan Land Bhd, a public listed main board property development company. He holds a Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Hons) from the University of Technology Malaysia, LL.B (Hons) from University of London and Certificate of Legal Practice. Bro. Charlie Chia is a well-known Lay Speaker in the local scene. He gives inspiring talks to the Buddhist Societies, Universities and Colleges. He is also invited to give talks around Malaysia. He speaks well on subjects such as practical Buddhist daily living, mind development, main Buddhist doctrines and motivational and positive thinking. He has conducted many Buddhist courses, training camps and retreats.
